Professional-grade structured light 3D scanning delivered directly to your facility, production floor, or job site. We capture full-surface dimensional data and deliver actionable metrology results — without your parts ever leaving your building.
From initial inquiry to final report, WAGNUM keeps the process straightforward — with no shipping risks, no lab delays, and complete transparency at every step.
Tell us about your parts, assemblies, or structures. We'll clarify requirements — tolerances, deliverable format, timeline — and provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs.
Same-Day QuoteOur metrologist mobilizes to your facility or job site with fully self-contained portable scanning equipment. No CMM room required. No production disruption.
Zero Shipping RiskWe perform a complete structured light scan, capturing millions of data points across the full surface of your part or environment with sub-millimeter accuracy.
Full-Surface DataWe process your scan data and deliver professional measurement reports in the format your team needs to act on immediately.
<48 hr TurnaroundUsing handheld portable structured light scanning equipment, WAGNUM delivers a full range of on-site metrology services — from single-part inspection to large-scale facility documentation.
Full-surface comparison of manufactured parts against nominal CAD geometry or engineering drawings. Identify dimensional deviations, verify tolerances, and document results for incoming inspection, final acceptance, and supplier qualification.
Comprehensive first-article documentation verifying that your production process can consistently produce parts conforming to all engineering requirements. Accelerates new part and supplier approval with thorough dimensional reporting.
Capture the precise geometry of legacy parts, tooling, fixtures, or molds with no existing CAD data. We generate high-quality point clouds and polygon meshes that your engineering team or our partners can convert into accurate, fully editable CAD models — ready for redesign, manufacturing, or reproduction.
Create accurate 3D records of existing structures, equipment, piping, or facilities as they actually exist today. Essential for facility planning, retrofit design, and maintaining current documentation for aging infrastructure. Eliminates measurement errors in engineering and design work.
Verify that mating components will assemble correctly before committing to final assembly. Identify interference conditions, validate clearances, check datum alignment, and confirm that complex assemblies meet design intent — catching problems before they become costly rework or field failures.
Every WAGNUM engagement produces clear, actionable outputs in the file formats your engineering and quality teams already use.
Raw and processed point cloud files (e.g., .e57, .xyz, .pts) for use in your CAD environment or downstream engineering workflows.
Watertight polygon mesh models of your parts or environment, ready for reverse engineering, simulation, or 3D printing.
Professional PDF inspection reports suitable for first article inspection packages and quality record keeping.
Export-ready files in formats including STEP, IGES, and others as required for your downstream engineering workflow.
WAGNUM serves industries where dimensional accuracy is non-negotiable and the ability to perform precision measurement on-site provides a critical advantage.
From prototype validation to restoring discontinued components, on-site 3D scanning brings engineering-grade metrology to the shop floor.
Precision measurement integrated into your production and quality management process — without slowing down the floor.
High-accuracy inspection and documentation for structural components, tooling, and production processes that demand the highest standards.
Capture accurate geometry of piping, vessels, and plant equipment in operating environments — no facility shutdown required.
WAGNUM is an independent, Portland-based 3D scanning and metrology services company built on a straightforward principle: precision dimensional measurement should happen where your parts are — not somewhere across the country. We bring professional-grade structured light scanning equipment directly to your facility, so you get faster results, zero shipping risk, and no disruption to your production schedule.
We operate professional handheld structured light scanning systems — the same class of technology trusted by aerospace and precision manufacturers — capable of capturing complex surface geometries quickly and accurately in real-world production environments.
Your parts stay where they are. WAGNUM eliminates shipping risk, transit damage, lead time, and the uncertainty of sending critical components off-site. We schedule around your production calendar and work within your facility's safety and access requirements.
Based in Portland, Oregon, with rapid response throughout the Metro area and project-based travel across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. We're in your time zone, familiar with regional industry, and available when you need us.
New to on-site 3D scanning? Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
Portable structured light scanners operate in the sub-millimeter range — typically 0.02–0.05 mm point accuracy under controlled conditions, making them well-suited for dimensional inspection and quality control applications in manufacturing and aerospace environments.
Scan time depends on part complexity, size, and the number of components. A single medium-complexity machined part may take 1–2 hours including setup and data processing. Larger jobs, as-built captures, or multi-part inspection runs are scoped individually. We'll estimate time requirements as part of your quote.
Not always. For dimensional inspection we compare your part to nominal CAD geometry, so a CAD file is helpful. For reverse engineering or as-built documentation, we work without existing CAD — that's the point. We can also work from drawings alone for basic dimensional checks.
Handheld structured light systems are versatile — we can scan parts ranging from small machined components (a few inches) up to large assemblies, vehicles, equipment, or architectural features. Very large structures may require multiple registration setups, which we account for in scoping and quoting.
Standard deliverables include a professional PDF inspection report. Depending on your project, we also provide point cloud files, 3D mesh/STL data, and files in STEP, IGES, or other formats needed for your engineering workflow.
Absolutely. Our primary zone is the Portland Metro area, but we serve clients throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. We also travel for larger projects beyond those boundaries — just let us know your location and we'll include any travel in your transparent quote.
Fill out the Request a Quote form below, or email us directly. Include a brief description of your parts, the inspection or service type you need, your location, and any timeline constraints. We respond within 1 business day with clarifying questions and a preliminary estimate.
